A Mask A Day
When it comes to red-hot skincare trends, face masks lead the way! Everywhere you go, beauty and skincare experts are singing their praises, and they’re not wrong…
The sheet mask is likely what you’re thinking of when you hear the term ‘face mask’. They’re a staple of Korean beauty and have become quite trendy in recent years. Sheet masks are great because they’re versatile enough to treat a number of issues, can be a great quick fix and are super travel-friendly. In-flight beauty treatment, anyone?
To add a unique fun touch to my face mask collection, alongside helping skin to look fabulous, I wanted each mask to have feel good benefits! I created them to boost the complexion and boost your mood. You just need to choose the one that's most suited to your needs right now. How are you and your skin feeling? If you feel like you need to press the refresh button choose revitalizing orange to enjoy a lively vibe and a healthy glow, for a hygge-hug choose Cucumber and while your mind is soothed your skin is smoothed! Or maybe you’re in the mood for a power-up with Pomegranate? This one gives a brighter tone and the strength to kick the January blues to the curb! There’s actually seven different masks so you can pick ‘n’ mix your own mood mask set, or with The 7 Daily Doses Mask Kit, there’s one for every day of the week.
Using a face mask can be blissful. Just 15 minutes of switching off - lie down, pop a pillow under your head and breathe deeply - can really calm. But for those get-up-and-go days, waiting for it to work can be really boring! Here’s a few things I do to maximize my mask time –
Make myself a detoxifying tea or fresh smoothie - pump your body full of goodness in no time at all. Review my to do list and try to prioritize! Explore countries I will visit on my forthcoming trip with Freddie, it’s so exciting. Keep up with what’s hot or not and check out the latest beauty trends. Catch up on one of my favorite series or dive into the latest box series. Light a candle and listen to my favorite tracks.
Each of my masks has its own super-hero ingredient, one that’s great for skin, but is also what I call a ‘good mood food’ - the type of thing I love to consume, after all we are what we eat!
As it’s January and I want to super-size my energy for the year ahead, I’ll be making my nutritious Pomegranate, Avocado and Orange Drizzle Salad. It’s a great speedy fix that’s fun to make and is substantial - rumbles and mood swings be gone!
To make it, roughly chop lettuce, avocado and a cheese you love. Then sprinkle with nuts such as peanuts, cashews, and pistachios. Make a citrus vinaigrette from freshly squeezed orange juice mixed with a little white balsamic vinegar and a dash of olive oil, add a little seasoning and drizzle over the top.
Here’s to feeling fresh and fabulous from the inside out!
